Grief and the Holidays:
A supportive workshop

The holiday season can intensify feelings of grief, loneliness, and longing. Whether your loss is recent or years old, the pressure to “be merry” can feel overwhelming.

This gentle, therapist-led workshop creates a space to honor your loss while offering tools to navigate this emotionally complex time of year.

This workshop combines psychoeducation with guided reflection and supportive group sharing (participation is always optional). It is open to anyone grieving the loss of a loved one—whether through death, estrangement, or other forms of separation.

​We will cover:

  • Why grief feels more intense during the holidays

  • Coping strategies for social gatherings, traditions, and emotional triggers

  • How to set boundaries and manage expectations

  • Ways to honor your loved one during the season

  • The importance of self-compassion and grief-informed self-care

​​

Who It’s For: Adults (age 18 and up) who have experienced a significant loss and are seeking a safe, compassionate space to process their grief. No previous therapy experience is necessary. All genders, backgrounds, and types of loss are welcome.

Group Details:

  • Format: Closed group (please plan to stay the entire session time)

  • Duration: 90 minutes
