Grief Process Group
Grieving is a deeply personal journey, and it can be profoundly healing to share that journey with others who understand.
This Grief Process Group offers a supportive and confidential space to explore the complex emotions that accompany loss—whether it’s the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or any other life transition that brings grief.

Description:
Facilitated by a licensed mental health professional, this group encourages open expression, mutual support, and gentle guidance through the grieving process. Through shared experiences and psychoeducation, participants will gain insight, resilience, and connection during a time that often feels isolating.
Group Focus May Include:
-
Understanding the stages and waves of grief
-
Coping with emotional overwhelm, guilt, or anger
-
Honoring and remembering those who have been lost
-
Finding meaning and integration after loss
-
Navigating changes in relationships and identity
-
Practicing self-care and building a support network
Who It’s For:
Adults (age 18 and up) who have experienced a significant loss and are seeking a safe, compassionate space to process their grief. No previous therapy experience is necessary. All genders, backgrounds, and types of loss are welcome.

Who It’s NOT For:
Though grief groups are very beneficial for many, the follow may not benefit from this group:

-
Individuals in Acute Crisis or Active Trauma Response
If someone is newly grieving and still in shock, emotionally dysregulated, or experiencing panic attacks, they may need one-on-one support first. A group setting can feel overwhelming or unsafe in the earliest stages of grief. -
People with Severe, Untreated Mental Health Issues
Individuals experiencing untreated depression, active substance use, suicidal ideation, or psychosis may need individual clinical care before or instead of joining a group. -
Those Who Struggle with Listening or Sharing Space
Grief groups rely on mutual respect and shared participation. If someone tends to dominate conversations, interrupt others, or has difficulty tolerating others’ emotions, group work might be challenging without some personal therapy first. -
People Seeking Immediate Solutions or Fixes
Grief is not something to "solve" quickly. Those who expect fast relief or who are uncomfortable sitting with emotional discomfort may feel frustrated in a group centered on slow, compassionate processing. -
Those Who Are Grieving a Loss That Is Not a Good Fit for the Group Focus
For example, someone grieving a traumatic death (e.g., suicide, overdose, homicide) may not feel understood in a general loss group unless it's structured to support that specific kind of loss. This is a good conversation to have with the lead clinician during the pre-group consultation call to determine if this group is the right fit. -
Individuals with Confidentiality Concerns
Some people may feel too exposed or vulnerable in group settings and may worry about privacy. If trust in group dynamics feels out of reach, individual therapy may be more appropriate.
